The Artificial Intelligence Latvia Association (MILA) announces the election of its new board, which brings together leaders and experts from various industries with extensive experience in business, innovation, and technology development. The board aims to provide strategic support for the association's activities and to promote the development and integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in Latvian business and society.

MILA’s new board includes six industry experts. Armands Broks is the founder and manager of the financial technology company “Twino”, Oksana Sivokobilska, Financial Industry Digitalization Strategist, Dmitrijs Jemeljanovs, Machine Learning Expert, Forward IT Consulting Manager, Gatis Romanovskis “Hansab” CEO, Kristaps Siliņš Brand Strategist and McCANN Group Managing Partner, Guntis Kalniņš, Experienced Technology Industry Manager, Dmitrijs Ņititins SIA “TET” Board Member, Chief Technology Director.
The Council will act as a strategic support to the MILA Board, providing recommendations and helping the association achieve its goals in developing the AI industry, strengthening the business and research ecosystem, and educating the public about the opportunities and risks of artificial intelligence.
MILA CEO Arvils Kupris emphasizes: “In order for the development of AI in Latvia to proceed more quickly and efficiently, both practical support for companies and a strategic vision are needed. The newly established MILA Council will make a significant contribution to promoting the growth of the industry, developing the export of AI innovations and creating an appropriate regulation.”
MILA plans to continue developing several key areas of activity. Promoting education and training is a key goal of the association, so high-quality and regular seminars and trainings will be organized to increase public and business awareness of the opportunities offered by AI. The association will also be active in the field of advocacy, representing the interests of the AI industry in state institutions, promoting the development of appropriate regulations.
One of the key aspects will be the promotion of exports by supporting Latvian companies in the development of AI solutions and their implementation in international markets to increase competitiveness. Funding will also be attracted by cooperating with companies and identifying support programs that would promote the development of AI in Latvia.
MILA will continue to implement talent development programs to attract and develop young people in the field of AI, as well as promote cooperation between academia, public administration and industry to strengthen the AI ecosystem in Latvia.
