On September 30, the Riga Motor Museum will host the AI Reality Check 2026 conference, which will bring together representatives of companies, the technology industry and the public sector. The focus of the conference will be on practical experience in implementing artificial intelligence, the results actually achieved, mistakes, challenges, data and privacy issues, as well as AI security risks.

On September 30, the Riga Motor Museum will host the conference "AI Reality Check 2026", organized by SIA Animas, where representatives of companies, the technology industry and the public sector will share practical experience in implementing artificial intelligence, its results, limitations and risks.
The use of artificial intelligence in companies is rapidly expanding, but experience varies significantly across industries. While some companies are already using AI in everyday processes and decision-making, elsewhere its implementation is still in the experimental stage or has not delivered the results initially expected.
“AI Reality Check 2026” is designed as an honest conversation about this experience. The conference will focus not only on successful AI applications, but also on mistakes, implementation difficulties, data and privacy issues, security risks and situations where the use of technology has not proved to be justified.
“There is a lot of talk about artificial intelligence at the moment, but the most important question for business leaders is no longer what artificial intelligence is theoretically capable of. It is important to understand where it already gives a measurable result, what the risks of implementation are and what we can learn from those who have already gone through this path. Therefore, at the conference, we want to show not only the successful side, but the reality as a whole,”SIA Animas CEO Gatis Romanovskis notes.
The conference will feature the experiences and perspectives of Betija Deina Muižniece (Animas), Gatis Romanovskis (Animas), Gatis Ozols (Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development), Jānis Grants (DPD Latvija), Lilita Beķere (Numeri Latvija), Artūrs Kostins (Estimo.lv), Kristaps Cīrulis (SHIFT2 & Shipyard AI), Guna Pūce (Artificial Intelligence Centre), Jekaterina Macuka (Data State Inspectorate), Sanda Dejus (Radio SWH) and Elviss Strazdiņš (bool). The conference will be moderated by Valdis Melderis.
The programme includes practical business case studies, a public sector perspective, a discussion on the impact of artificial intelligence on various sectors, personal data and liability issues, as well as AI security risks.
At the end of the conference, cybersecurity expert Elviss Strazdiņš will demonstrate live how a language model with built-in security and refusal mechanisms removed works and how such models can be used for fraud.
AI Reality Check 2026will take placeSeptember 30, 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Riga Motor Museum.
The conference is free of charge. The number of participants is limited to 100 places. Registration is done by application, and the organizers confirm participation individually.
